Wedding Notice March 2, 1921 MILLAR-DEVEREAUX [source?]
"A very pretty wedding took place at Pleasant Lodge Farm,
7th line, Esquesing, on March 2, 1921, when Laura Luella,
daughter of Mrs. And the late Walter G. Devereaux was united
in wedlock to Mr. John Bernard Millar of Esquesing. Rev. Wray
L. Davidson officiated. About thirty-five guests, near relatives
and friends were present. The bride looked very sweet in a
cream gown of crepe-de-chine and carried a shower bouquet
of pink and white carnations, sweet peas and Asparagus fern
tied with white tulle and baby ribbon. Miss Millar, sister
of the groom, played the wedding march as the bride entered
on the arm of her brother, Mr. John D. Devereaux. The rooms
were prettily decorated in a color scheme of pink and white.
After the ceremony the company sat down to a bountiful and
delicious supper.
Mr. And Mrs. Millar left on the evening train for Toronto,
Niagara, Buffalo and other points. The bride's going away
suit was brown tricotine with hat to match. The young couple
will reside on the Near farm at Ballinafad which Mr. Millar
recently purchased. Among the guests from a distance were
Mrs. Willie Brown, Toronto and Miss Annie Rose, Huntingdon,
QC.
About forty members of the Hi-Shy_N1 S.S. Class of which Mr.
And Mrs. Millar are members, met at the home of the bride
last Fri. evening and presented her with a handsome cut glass
fruit dish, after a social hour was spent."
